UEFA.com correspondent's opinion
History was made in Madrid on the 6th Matchday despite the defeat of Gladbach'. Foals's bold and captivating football brand paid dividends in its third UEFA Champions League campaign.
I wrote about their desire to qualify from such a tough group. And if they needed help crossing the border, Gladbach still deserved buyers, with the Inter-Shakhtar result positive. Definitely, a few people wanted to shoot them in the next round.

what we learned
It was a good feat to progress through such a tough pool, but Marco Rose''s resourceful, collective-minded side almost suffered from a lack of experience at this level, accepting late equalizers in his first two games and then getting frustrated at Matchday 6'.
Lessons will be learned, but they do not need forward guidance; They play as if they have nothing to lose with depth, balance and clear belief in Rose's vision. Even if this is their first UEFA Champions League knockout campaign, it should not be taken lightly.

• Mönchengladbach''s 6-0 win in Game 3 of Shakhtar' equaled the biggest away win in the European Cup / UEFA Champions League' their previous 6-0 success was at EPA Larnaca in their first match in the competition in September 1970'.
• Of the 16 competitors' rounds, only Porto (% 42.5) had fewer group stages than Gladbach' (% 44.7).
• Everyone is involved in the attack; The Foals had eight different scorers and seven different assist providers in the group stage.
Who is authorized?
Former Salzburg coach Rose, a defender who trades with Jürgen Klopp in Mainz, was accused of playing dynamic football. It's fair to say that in his first and a half seasons he made a real impression at the helm.
